CASPER, Wyo. (Wyoming News Now) - People celebrated this year’s summer solstice Saturday at the Wyoming Solstice Celebration Holistic Fair.

The event was held at the Clarion Inn at Platte River Hotel.

Proceeds from the event went to Mimi’s House, a charity providing shelter for homeless teenage girls.

Vendors offered numerous things including essential oils, lotions, massages, Reiki, feather tapping, handmade jewelry and organic products.

“We’re so excited to be able to be out in the public, helping the public, being able to bring our therapy to everyone that’s able to come out today,” said Molly Jurgensen, Mosaic Massage College Director and Instructor.

Her booth offered visitors chair massages.

People were also excited to get out and about after being cooped up for months due to COVID-19.

“Everybody needs to get out and just have a good time whether that’s getting outside or coming to one of these events and supporting your local vendors,” Clarion Inn at Platte River Hotel Sales and Catering Manager Chynna Dobson said.

Dobson helped organize the fair.

“It’s been great and I want to thank the community for coming out today and being a part of this. Couldn’t have done it without them so we’ve had a great turnout and we’re really just happy,” Jurgensen said.

Organizers spaced booths far apart and provided masks and hand sanitizer to keep people safe.
