CASPER, Wyo. (Wyoming News Now) Three cardiology clinics have been hosted at the Pediatric Specialty Clinic so far. The clinic is housed in the McMurry Medical Arts Center behind Wyoming Medical Center. Almost 30 children have received treatment since it opened in November.

"We walk through just to see how excited they are to have such a fun kind of Children's (Hospital) away from Children's (Hospital) experience when they're here to see their doctor," Katie Caldwell-Burchett, The Olivia Caldwell Foundation CEO and Founder, said.
Right now there are two cardiologists from Children's Hospital Colorado who travel to Casper once a month to see patients. But as the year progresses, endocrinology and pulmonology professionals will be available.
Caldwell-Burchett said they hope to have gastroenterology and neurology services come to the clinic sometime this year as well. She said it's exciting to see everything come together.
"Being able to really help in our community and to honor the lives of so many children who fought these big battles including my daughter, it's really spectacular, it makes my heart happy," Caldwell-Burchett said.
Caldwell-Burchett said the Pediatric Specialty Clinic is one of two missions for The Olivia Caldwell Foundation. The second mission is continuing to fund pediatric cancer research, which the foundation has done since it began six years ago.
"When you're donating, when you're supporting that research, it really yields tremendous results. We can say that the research that we've funded in the last six years has actually led to the cure of multiple types of cancer, including the one that actually killed my daughter. Using our funding and to know that what we're doing is making an impact is a huge thing," Caldwell-Burchett
Caldwell-Burchett is excited for what 2020 holds for the clinic and the foundation.
