CHEYENNE, Wyo. (Wyoming News Now) Members of Cheyenne Elks Lodge 660 have been working on a salute to the Wyoming troops, called "Operation care package."

The group will be sending 340 care packages to deployed members of the Wyoming Army Guard.

The people of Cheyenne donated all the snacks and essentials for these packages.

Members of the community formed an assembly line to put the boxes together.

According to a volunteer "Operation Care Package" took all hands on deck as a team, to complete the two day mission in just one morning.

"This was the Elks that kind of started this, they've reached out and people heard about it, and they wanted to help, so it's nice that they can all come together as a great big team."

The volunteers will be shipping off the care packages to reach the troops in time for Christmas
