CASPER, Wyo. (RELEASE) - UPDATE:
At approximately 7:30 PM on March 24th the Casper-Natrona County Health Department received notice of an additional case of Coronavirus (COVID-19) in our community. This brings the Natrona County case totals to 3 confirmed cases. Statewide, there are 33 cases in the following counties: Sheridan, Laramie, Park, Fremont, Teton, Campbell, Carbon and Natrona.
The Casper-Natrona County Health Department is diligently working to complete thorough contact tracing on any positive cases identified in Natrona County. This process includes interviewing the positive patient, gathering travel history or possible places of exposure, and identifying and reaching out to any possible contacts as soon as possible. We assure you, we are working rigorously to identify and locate anyone else who may be ill or at risk from exposure and recommend they take the necessary precautions.
The confirmed positive case, as well as immediate household members, are currently self-quarantining at the recommendation of health officials.
All positive patients are being monitored by health officials to ensure appropriate precautions are being taken to prevent further spread of illness within the community. We will be providing more information as it is available on this rapidly developing situation at the Natrona County Emergency Operations Center, Joint Information Center news briefing on Wednesday, March 24, 2020 at 3:00 pm which will be broadcast live on Casper-Natrona County Health Department Facebook page, City of Casper Youtube and local FOX and ABC channels.
At approximately 8:30 PM on March 23rd the Casper-Natrona County Health Department received notice of a second case of Coronavirus (COVID-19) in our community.
At approximately 7:00 pm on Friday, March 20th, the Casper-Natrona County Health Department received notice of the first positive case of Coronavirus (COVID-19) in Natrona County.
