Natrona County detention center doing extra sanitizing since COVID-19

CASPER Wyo. (Wyoming News Now) The Natrona County detention center is taking extra precautions since the outbreak of COVID-19. Sean Ellis, a representative for the Natrona County Joint information center, said there is a doctor in the facility twenty-four seven. He added health screenings are part of the protocol when a new inmate is booked they are aware of the health status.

Also, separating inmates in pods is already part of the booking protocol.
“There are certain amendments that have to be followed inside the detention center for people who have already been to trial versus people who are pre-trial versus people have been sentenced,” Ellis said.

He added that since inmates are fairly separated, it’s easy to implement social distancing.
