MITCHELL, Neb. Scotts Bluff County Sheriff arrested a Mitchell man for cruel mistreatment of an animal(s).
According to the court affidavit, on January 17th, David Hoover wanted to speak about his manager, 24 year old Jamison Kooima of Mitchell, abusing animals at the feed yard located on the 90000 block of Haig Road.
Hoover states that Kooima kicked the cat out of his hands and proceeded to stomp and kick it to death in front of a nine year old child.
Hoover then states that another employee told him that Jamison had shot and killed a dog that he had been feeding and caring for.
On January 18th, contact was made with Tiffany Morris-Warren who states that she did not witness Jamison killing the cat but has seen the deceased dog in the back of Jamison’s truck.
L.R. was the next to speak and states that he witnessed Jamison kick two cats.
One of the cats ran away injured while Jamison caught the second one and killed it by kicking it.
Kooima is arrested on two counts of cruelty to an animal, a Class 3A Felony and commit child abuse negligently/no injury, a Class 1 Misdemeanor.
Kooima’s bond is set at $20,000.00.
Kooima is scheduled to appear in court on January 30th.
