Missing Colorado toddler found dead in nearby river
Police say a Colorado toddler has been found dead after going missing from home.
The Larimer County Sheriff's Office says the 23-month-old's mother woke up Monday morning and found the child was gone. The door to their home was open and the mother told police she last saw the child 30 minutes earlier before they both fell asleep.
About 30 minutes after the search began, the child was found unresponsive just 400 yards down river from the residence by a first responders. CPR was started and the child was transported to a local hospital via ambulance.
The child's name has not been released.
Authorities say the county's coroner will determine the cause of death in the coming days.
