CASPER, Wyo. (AP) - A Wyoming man has pleaded guilty to a case of sexual abuse that occurred 20 years ago.
The Casper Star-Tribune reports that Bruce Sloyer pleaded guilty to two counts of a charge related to conduct with the same underage victim between 1999 and 2000.
The plea deal says that prosecutors can argue for a three- to five-year prison sentence for one count and probation for the other, while defense attorneys can request a different sentence.
Sloyer accepted the plea in exchange for the dismissal of four other sex-related charges.
Court documents said the Natrona County Sheriff's Office investigated Sloyer in 2000 but were unable to verify accusations that he abused a preteen girl.
Sloyer told police he molested the girl after authorities received additional information last year.
