CASPER,Wyo. (Wyoming News Now) Make-A-Wish Wyoming has granted over six hundred wishes since 1985. One boy from Gilette got something he has always wanted, a camper.
"He has always seen campers when we went camping. We always camped in a tent we never had a camper he always wanted one, said his mom, Vanya Simeonov.
“I’m really happy and excited,” Hayden said.
A local family sponsored Hayden’s wish. “We haven't had any personal experience with any of it..we just want to give back to the kids, said Pete Maxwell, Make-A-Wish sponsor.
Hayden was diagnosed with a blood disease in 2016. Simeonov says the doctors don’t know how he got it.
"He's doing really well. He's got a thirty percent risk of getting sick again,” Simeonov said. She added that his illness was a nightmare and is glad he is better.
Morgan Polonic, Make-A-Wish Wyoming CEO says there’s nothing like seeing kids’ a reaction.
"A lot of our kids spend more time in the hospital then they do on the playground and so in a lot of ways illness can steal their childhood. Our hope is that a wish can give a piece of it back and that's exactly what we got to see today, Polonic said.
"I'm speechless today and extremely thankful and humbled to Make-A-Wish and to the very kind family that sponsored the event, Simeonov said.
