Local greenhouse helps keep downtown Casper vibrant
The Downtown Development Authority usually asks Galles Greenhouse to finish the downtown flower beds by the middle of June for rodeo week.
Galles' staff markets and designs what they are going to do for the beds each summer.
Thousands of petunias, lantana flowers and others fill the beds. Anything that can handle the Cowboy State heat and wind.
Galles' manager, Shelby Andress, said this is their way of giving back to the community.
"It means a lot to us just to help brighten up downtown. Make it a little bit more enjoyable for everybody to go down and shop local, support David Street Station when they're able to have events. So it just adds a little extra touch I guess, to downtown," said Andress
Galles staff upkeep the beds at least once a month throughout the summer.
