CHEYENNE, Wyo. (Wyoming News Now) - Lions Club of Cheyenne is helping restore vision whether it's with glasses for those less fortunate or those not able to pay for expensive surgeries.

Cheyenne's Sunrise Lions Clubs President Robin Walters knows all too well the challenges of not being able to see, she is blind and has two children with compromised vision. Robin's motivation to help anyone with vision problems is close to home and very personal.

Robin and the lions club has helped many people, one of which is Barbie Harrington. Barbie lost her vision after a stroke. She says "You don't now the value of your eyes until you lose them, I lost vision in both of my eyes at the same time."

Lions Club of Cheyenne stepped in and helped Barbie to regain her sight through the help of their network of doctors and with financial aid. Harrington mentioned the Lions Club helped to get her life back and now, in turn, is able to give back to the community.

Funds are raised through various events. Two of the bigger fund-raisers are Jail and Bail, coming up on May 22nd and Ride for Sight, August 4th.
