On June 19, 2019 Laramie Police Officers received a report of an open door at an apartment in the 1500 block of North 15th Street. The resident also reported that he had discovered items were missing from the apartment.

While the Officer was conducting on-going follow up on August 5, 2019, he discovered another burglary that had occurred in the 600 block of South Pine.

As a result of the Officer’s investigations, Andrew J May, a 27-year-old Laramie resident was arrested and charged with Aggravated Burglary (WS 6-3-301(c)) as well as two counts of Wrongful Taking or Disposing of Property (WS 6-3-403(a)(iii)), Theft (WS 6-3-402(c)(iii)), and False Statement to a Pawn Broker (WS6-3-612). Bond has not yet been set in this matter and Mr. May remains incarcerated at the Albany County Detention Center.

Aggravated Burglary is a felony punishable by imprisonment for not less than five (5) years nor more than twenty-five (25) years, a fine of not more than fifty thousand dollars ($50,000.00), or both.

The remaining charges are misdemeanors.

At this time, these charges are merely accusations and Mr. May is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
