CHEYENNE, Wyo. (WyomingNewsNow) - Laramie county has a new county commissioner. Brian Lovett is currently the Industrial Siting Division Administrator for Wyoming DEQ.
Lovett says he has a lot of experience with not just environmental issues in the county but dealing with conflict as well. But now Lovett has a new challenge – he’s coming into the commission in the middle of the coronavirus pandemic.
Lovett says the challenge the virus represents, and its impact on the county’s budget, is the single most important challenge Laramie County is facing in the short term.
"Well I think the bigger issues going to be there's going to be significant impacts to the revenue stream with the lack of business activity,” Lovett told Wyoming News Now, “And so with our budget process starting I think that's the next big challenge is to do some revenue forecasting and figure out how to be fiscally responsible."
Lovett says coming in he is excited to work for Laramie County and alongside the other commissioners.
