Laramie County Fair On amid COVID

CHEYENNE, Wyo, (Wyoming News Now) The Event Center at Archer plans to host the 2020 Laramie County Fair.
Since 1907, Laramie County has hosted the County Fair. The History of the Fair goes back to the days when multiple counties participated in the Fair. That said, a hundred years ago, Wheatland was the home of the fairgrounds.

Present-day, the Fair is hosted at the Event Center at Archer. The state of the art facility bridges the gap between Agriculture and the consumer.

“The tradition doesn’t involve just the food trucks and entertainment. This event involves kids and the adults coming out and showing people what they’ve worked hard for.”

Traditional events like the livestock comp, exhibits, and the kids rodeo will headline the Fair. The Event Center at Archer still has plans for the Country Fair to take place this year, just in a way like never before.

Even with social distancing and asking the public to keep attendance numbers low, having the County Fair virtually is the best way to keep the 120-year-old tradition alive.

“One of the main components this year is we will be asking the public to stay home. We’re going to be restricting access to the exhibitors and possibly a plus one for safety measures.”

Nicholle Watkins believes the best way to keep the community engaged is to put on the Fair with amid COVID-19.

“This is still a community event, whether it looks or feels different; this still involves our fair families. I believe this includes all the hard work, and we want to give that opportunity to show it off.”

This year’s Fair will have a live stream available and will begin July 27th.
