CHEYENNE, Wyo. (Wyoming News Now) Laramie County Community College announced on June 28th that Dr. Cindy Henning was appointed to be the interim director of athletics. Dr. Henning came to LCCC back in 2010 and is very familiar with the Golden Eagle athletics. When speaking with Henning about her new role she said "My conversations I'm having with the coaches right now this initial time is really us really doing an analysis of hey here's what we have going on, here's things that make sense, here's some things that we need to tweak and right now that's really kind of the guideline that I'm going by, our student athletes actually we have high expectations for them we recognize that they are students and they are also athletes and our student athletes overall they do a really good job they go to the classes they communicate with their instructors they graduate they get degrees we want to provide them an opportunity to have a better life in a nutshell that aligns with the mission of our college we wanna transform our students life's and the same for our student athletes we want to transform their life's, give them a great experience of being a college athletes."
Dr. Henning was a student athlete growing up she played sports at Cheyenne East high school, then went to Eastern Wyoming College to play volleyball. She finished her volleyball career playing at the University of Northern Colorado.
