CASPER, Wyo. (Wyoming News Now) Joshua’s Storehouse and Distribution Center is hosting its first Black Friday Craft Fair Friday and Saturday at Atrium Plaza. The fair is a fundraiser for Joshua’s.

Shoppers check out handbags made from plastic bags at Joshua's Storehouse and Distribution Center's craft fair in Casper, Wyo. on Friday, Nov. 29, 2019.

Items for sale include quilts, handbags, jewelry, homemade baked goods, candy, jams, Christmas ornaments and more. Custom Christmas trees are also available via silent auction.

“We have vendors that have come from out-of-town. We have local vendors,” Perez said.

Black Friday is generally means shopping at national chains. Perez said it doesn’t mean shoppers can’t buy local.

“Black Friday, biggest shopping day of the year but it should be about some hometown things. Let’s bring it back to keeping it local. Let’s keep it local,” she said.

As a fundraiser for Joshua’s, it helps the organization continue feeding the hungry, but this year, people are asking much more of Joshua’s.

“Right now, we really really need to make ends meet with the increased numbers of people that are asking for help this year. And it’s not just food this year,” Perez said.

She said Joshua’s is helping people with a number of things, including clothes, furniture and gas bills.
