Plenty of people were present at the signing of House Bill 171 on March 6, 2019. Wyoming State Representative, Bunky Loucks (R - Casper), kicked-off the signing. He said, "I'm not an ‘ag’ guy. I wish I was. We're blessed to have you as our Governor in the greatest state of all of the Union."

Farmers and state officials spent time sharing about the economic value of hemp in Wyoming. Most people in the crowd were present at committee meetings during the Legislative session to lobby for the bill.

Co-owner of the Wyoming Hemp Seed Company, Matt Rankin, said "It's very historic. It's a great moment. I'm proud of Bunky. I'm proud of the Governor. I'm proud of all Wyomingites. This is exciting. It's definitely a big day. I'm very happy."

The Department of Agriculture is working on a plan to submit to the USDA for overseeing the hemp program.
