CASPER, Wyo. (Wyoming News Now) With all the snowfall Wyoming had this month, the skiing season is right around the corner. Hogadon Basin Ski Area will be hosting their 2nd annual Novemberfest at the lodge this Saturday.

“We’re finally getting the weather that we need and getting snowfall, so really this month is where we’re gearing up and getting ready to open,” Beth Andress, community relations coordinator for Casper Parks and Recreation, said.
The open house will give the community the chance to buy their preseason passes in person. There will be informational booths from Mountain Sports, Hogadon Basin Snow Sports School and Grand Targhee Resort.
There will be a performance from Dance Evolutions, face paint and food and beverages available at the event.
The weather plays a big role in deciding when the ski area opens for the season.
Andress encourages the community to wait until the area is completely open to ski.
“We are a public park but that doesn’t mean that we want people coming up and skiing when it’s not safe to do so. If you’re somebody that’s new to skiing, we would recommend that you wait until a ski area is completely open,” Andress said.
Hogadon Basin Ski Area hopes to open in December.
