High school football teams from the Southeast region hosting the first round of playoffs

CHEYENNE, Wyo. (Wyoming News Now)- The first round of the high school football playoffs will be on Friday, November 1st. In the Southeast region, Central, East and Burns are hosting the first round game.

In 4A, East is the number 4 seed hosting number 5 seed Natrona County. Last year in the semi-finals, East lost to Natrona County in the last seconds of the game. Natrona County came out on top when they played East during the regular season this year. East and Natrona County will kick off at Okie Blanchard Stadium at 6pm.

Across town in the 4A, Central will be hosting Rock Springs for the first round of the playoffs. Central is the number 3 seed and Rock Springs is the number 6 seed. Central beat Rock Springs on the road during the regular season 36-29. The past two years, Central hasn't made it past the first round of the playoffs so they are hoping to change that Friday night. Central and Rock Springs will kick off at 7pm.

In 2A, Burns is the number 2 seed in the east hosting the number 3 seed from the west, Big Piney. Burns hasn't made the playoffs since 2013 and the last time the Broncs won a playoff game was in 2008. Before the season got started, the team said their goal was to go as far as they can this season. Burns and Big Piney will kick off at 7pm.
