Habitat for Humanity of Laramie County is raising money to build a new home in Cheyenne for a veteran as a part of its Veterans Build program.

It hopes to tear down and build the new home on property it already owns.

Habitat for Humanity of Laramie County is teaming up with the Wyoming Nonprofit Network through its WyoGives Day program. The Day of Giving is July 15.

Habitat for Humanity of Laramie County Special Projects Coordinator Dan Dorsch said the first $100,000 in donations through WyoGives will be matched.

“It means a lot,” Dorsch said. “Wyoming is such a veteran supportive state, especially here in Laramie County with the Air Force base, a lot of people love supporting the veterans and so that’s why we chose to use the WyoGives campaign as an opportunity to do so.”

He said this will be Habitat for Humanity of Laramie County’s first Veterans Build of 2020.
