CHEYENNE, Wyo. (KGWN) The Dogs for Hope Dog Show fundraiser was organized by Girl Scout from Troop 1069 member, Juana Hicks Rodriguez for her Gold Project. The purpose was to raise funds for a new microscope for the Cheyenne Animal Shelter Veterinary Clinic and as an animal lover, Juana knew where to turn.

“I reached out to Dr. Tessha about what the Animal Shelter Veterinary Clinic needed and she told me that they needed a microscope so I decided to have a dog show in order to raise money to buy a microscope,” said Juana Hicks Rodriguez.

The show was free and donations were accepted. Some of the events included the pup best at giving kisses, best at smiling, most obedient dog, and the pup best at shaking its tail.

The veterinarian at the clinic expressed her appreciation for the fundraiser and said she thought the idea was wonderful from the start.

“I was amazed [at] how many people were involved and participating, how many people stepped up to help Juana with her project,” said Dr. Tessha Winsch, Resident Vet & Medical Director, Cheyenne Animal Shelter. "It's great to see everybody so involved."
