Drive-thru window has played a big role for locally owned pharmacy during pandemic

CASPER, Wyo. (Wyoming News Now) - Medicap Pharmacy closed its front of house for around two months. What played a big role in keeping things running was its drive-thru.

"The drive-thru was crucial with business because most of the other pharmacies in town, you had to enter into the store still standing in line, do your spacing," said Medicap Pharmacy Pharmacist and Co-Owner, Eric Saul.

Saul said they also saw people transfer to their pharmacy because of the convenience of having a drive-thru. He said though many of the changes were on the fly, the pharmacy has not seen a lack of supply for prescriptions. They also have multiple suppliers just in case.

Saul and his wife co-own Medicap Pharmacy and are Wyoming natives. They want the community to know that they don't have the corporate burden on their pharmacy and their decisions are made locally.

"We try to find out what our patients in Casper need and if we can provide that, we do stretch to try to provide that for people," said Saul.

Staff at Medicap are wearing masks and keeping the pharmacy as sanitized as possible.
