CASPER, Wyo. (KCWY) Creepy clowns have been spotted all over the country from east to west and even here in Natrona County. News 13s Justin Roth took a look at how these spooky costumes might be ruining some of our Halloween plans.
Creepy clowns have been popping up all across the country, and not in the fun Halloween type of way.
Sgt. Aaron Shatto of the Natrona County Sheriffs Office says, "The Natrona County Sheriffs Office is aware of the clown sighting throughout the nation we ask the public if they actually see a clown certainly if their suspicious of that clown to contact the local law enforcement and we will come out and investigate it."
Field of Screams Corn Maze opens this week, and they've made some changes after the recent clown news.
"We pulled all the clowns from our ads from our Facebook stuff were just were steering away from the clowns completely" says Rachel Hedges Board Member for the Haunted Corn Maze.
Clowns have gotten a bad wrap over the past couple of months all across the nation and even here in Natrona County after all who wouldn't be afraid?
"We've had one sighting in Natrona County where there were two clowns off the side of the road way staring a people" says Shatto.
Clowns performing at charity events, feel offended. Craig Warner is part of the Clown unit for the Shriners club he says, "Shriners are legitimate clowns we don't clown up everyday we clown up when there's a fundraising event national pancake day the shrine cirrus or shire bowl football game and we shrine and clown up when there's an event to raise funds for the shrine hospitals."
Warner warns these killer clowns, Wyomingites don't mess around.
"In general we think its a bunch stupid people doing stupid things and quite honestly putting themselves in harms way."
Police won't clown around if clowns are scaring citizens of our community.
If you see a clown and believe it to be threat to you or other you are asked to call police.
