Company hosting drive-in job fairs in Cheyenne
ResouceMFG is hosting job fairs at the Wyoming Department of Workforce Services’ headquarters in Cheyenne.
It’s hiring for firearms manufacturer Magpul.
These job fairs, however, are a little different. They're drive-in fairs taking place in the parking lot.
“COVID really forces us to think differently,” ResourceMFG Regional Vice President Richard Gaeta said. “It kind of put us in a situation where we really had to diversify our recruiting strategies and so now drive-thrus really satisfy the restrictions that are out there right now.”
ResourceMFG is looking to fill about 150 positions at Magpul.
During the fairs, recruiters wearing face coverings approach cars and discuss the job with potential applicants who stay in their vehicles. They then schedule a phone interview for a later date.
Applicants can pre-apply on ResourceMFG’s website or fill out an application on site.
Gaeta said the new type of fair has been successful and may last beyond the coronavirus pandemic.
“We certainly want to keep this strategy in play,” he said. “We want to do this every time, everywhere, every market we’re represented and it’s working well for us especially in other metro markets.”
ResourceMFG will host five more drive-in job fairs for Magpul openings. They will take place each Tuesday and Wednesday through July 22.
