Community meeting hosted by Sheriff’s Department
The Laramie County Sheriff’s Department hosted a community meeting on Sept. 10 to discuss crime in the area and answer any questions from residents. The meeting was held at North Christian Church to talk about the area of Four Mile Rd. up to County Rd. 218 and from I-25 E. to Whitney Rd.
Topics discussed were fireworks and guns being shot off in the county, people speeding on the same roads repeatedly, and how to keep your home safe from intruders and yourself safe from fraud. The Sheriff’s Department urges residents to give them a call if you see anything unusual even if you’re not sure that it rises to the level of an emergency.
“That way we can talk it over with them, give them some options,” said Kevin James, Patrol Lieutenant. “[We can] make an extra patrol in the area, we can always do that too if there’s an issue that’s been ongoing to make sure they do feel secure and that they know we are in the area, we do care, and that we will help in any way we can.”
The next community meeting is in October and details will be announced on the Sheriff’s Department Facebook page.
