Clemson wins 2nd National Championship in three years vs Alabama, 44-16

SANTA CLARA, CA.- No.2 Clemson, knocked off No. 1 Alabama, 44-16, in the College Football Playoff National Championship. It was the second national championship Clemson won in three years.

Tigers freshman quarterback, Trevor Lawrence, won offensive MVP, finishing with 20-32, 347 yards, three touchdowns.

Clemson receiver, Justyn Ross, had six receptions, 153 yards, and a touchdown.

Clemson head coach, Dabo Swinney earned is 55th win, leading the Tigers to be the first FBS team to go 15-0.

""For our seniors to be able to go out 15-0, and truly the best ever," Swinney said. "There was a lot of talk about best ever, all year long. We were never in that conversation, but tonight there's no doubt."

This is the second time, Clemson beat Alabama in the National Championship game.
