CHEYENNE, Wyo. (KGWN) Just like the holiday season that comes once a year, so does the City of Cheyenne’s annual audit. Cheyenne was issued with an “unqualified” audit status, meaning that it received a generally clean audit.
“We did have significant issues in terms of the Mayor’s Challenge grant earlier that were discovered by council,” said Rocky Case, Cheyenne City Council President, Ward III. “That happens to come to the surface in this audit as something that needs to be corrected and managed in a more appropriate fashion.”
However, there were two findings the accounting firm McGee, Hearne & Paiz did come across when they were completing the audit. The first one deals with adjustments that happen after the fiscal year closes and the second one deals with how grant funds are managed and dealt with and how those funds are spent. The firm says that although City Treasurer Robin Lockman is fairly new, she did a great job in helping them to efficiently conclude the annual audit.
