Fort Caspar Museum’s December Hands-on History program is “Simple Pleasures: Old West Christmas Traditions” on Saturday, December 14th from 1:00-3:00 pm.

In the Old West, pioneers, cowboys, explorers, soldiers, and mountain men celebrated Christmas with home-made gifts and decorations. Learn about some old traditions, listen to holiday stories, and decorate a “cookie dough” ornament to take home.

The cost for participants ages 5 years and older is $3 (for museum members) or $5 (for nonmembers). Class size is limited, so we recommend reserving a space in advance by calling the Museum at 307-235-8462 or sending an email to

Fort Caspar Museum is located at 4001 Fort Caspar Road in Casper, Wyoming.
