Cheyenne woman arrested for pawning musical instruments

CHEYENNE, Wyo. (Wyoming News Now) -- A Cheyenne woman was arrested this past weekend on accounts of felony theft exceeding the amount of $1,000.

Police say Melinda Churchill, who ran a musical instrument repair shop in town, allegedly took in instruments from prospective clients before selling them to local pawn shops.

The Cheyenne Police Department began receiving reports on June 19, and Churchill was brought into custody on June 20.

Churchill's bond is currently set at $3,000.

A court date is set for Churchill on July 1, and she will be represented by a public defender.
