In loo of there being no Frontier days, the City of Cheyenne still plans 10-days of fun, and fun. Cheyenne Days During Frontier Days traditionally are the time when employers would let their staff out early to enjoy the Rodeo and Festivities.

City Council is discussing allowing open containers in downtown from Memorial Day to Labor Day.

“In the 70s and 80s at Cheyenne Frontier Days, at night, you could walk from bar to bar, or you could walk from band to band with an open container with you.”

The Downtown Development Authority has requested the boundaries of their district be declared an individual District for Cheyenne Frontier Days- Legendary Nights.

The resolution states folks can have open containers in the area from a specific time frame 10 am to 10 pm.

Roybal says the city council is following the Casper model after speaking with the Police Chief. He echoed the same ideas.

“There are six guidelines that consist of armbands; cant be outside the business’s boundaries. You have to use the cups designed for that area and the D.D.A has put together the bands and cups.”

Recently at the City Council meeting, June 22, 2020, it was voted unanimously to pass the resolution.

WHEREAS, the Downtown Development Authority (DDA) requests the boundaries of their district be declared an individual zone for the “Cheyenne Days – Legendary Nights Event” at the following dates and times: 1. Paint Slingers 2020 – Saturday, July 18, 2020, from 12:00 pm to 9:30 pm (alcohol serving time – actual event times will be from 10:00 am to 10:00 pm) 2.
