Cheyenne PD said 60-year-old Robert Drummond was taken into custody after an aggravated domestic disturbance Tuesday night in the 1100 block of Gardenia in Cheyenne.
Police say there were called to the scene shortly after 9 p.m. when Drummond’s victim called 911 and said he was threatening her with a knife.
Responding officers reported Drummond was attempting to leave in his truck when they arrived on scene, but they were able to stop him.
Cheyenne Police spokesperson Officer Kevin Malatesta said Drummond would not comply with officers and held his hands behind his back while telling officers to shoot him.
Officers deployed a K9, then successfully detained Drummond, who sustained a bite from the K9 in the process.
After investigating further, police said they determined Drummond rammed the garage door of the residence with a truck and entered the residence where he put a knife to the victim’s neck and threatened to kill her.
The victim received medical attention from paramedics on scene.
Drummond is receiving medical attention for the bite at the Cheyenne Regional Medical Center, where he remains in Cheyenne Police Department custody until he is transported to the Laramie County Jail for booking for aggravated assault, DUI and interference.
