Cheyenne Youth Short Film Festival hosts premiere and award ceremony
Save the date!
The films that youth under 18 have been working on have a premiere date.
Cheyenne Youth Short Film Festival will premiere the top ten movies on Sunday, May 27 at 6:00pm at the Atlas Theatre. It is open to the public, however if you didn't participate in the contest it will cost $5.
The CYSFF is a two week film competition for those 18 and under. After two weeks they must submit the films then a panel of judges will pick the top ten and have a premiere celebration.
CYSFF began in 2013 when the creator realized there wasn't any film festivals for the young film makers. When the festival first began only 4 films were submitted, since then there have been over 20 films every year with 100-200 film makers involved.
At the premiere there will be hors d'oeuvres and an award ceremony. The awards given out are best actor and actress, best cinematography, best editing, best screen play and best picture.
In April a board member stopped by and said there were three things that needed to be in the film, which they announced at the meeting. Jeff Miller told us today those three things were a ticket, high angle pan and a certain phrase.
