CHEYENNE, Wyo. (Wyoming News Now)- With the recent find of Emerald ash borer (EAB) in Colorado, the Cheyenne Urban Forestry Division is offering Laramie County citizens ash tree evaluations.
According to Colorado State Forest Service, the EAB is an insect that is responsible for the death and decline of tens of millions of ash trees throughout the eastern United States and Canada. The division claims that Cheyenne has about five percent ash across the community. The division encourages people to fully let their trees leaf out before inspection
"It's critical that we protect those ash trees that are in good health, and then also replace those ash that are unhealthy and that are smaller in stature," Cheyenne Forester, Mark Ellison said.
