CHEYENNE, Wyo. (Wyoming News Now)- The Cheyenne Sixers 18U finished the NOCO Invitational strong with a 13-1 win against USA Prime Halicky, 13-1 via mercy rule in the bottom of the fourth inning. It would be the second mercy rule win for Cheyenne in the Invite in the fourth inning (Saturday vs 970 Sun Devils, score: 14-2).
After losing their first game of day two against the Mountain West Aces, 4-3. The game was tied 3-3 when the Mountain West Aces scored a run in the top of the seventh.
In game two, the Cheyenne Sixers took on USA Prime Halicky where the Sixers dominated, 13-1. Cheyenne recorded five runs in the second and eight in the fourth innings. Post 6 was hit by seven pitches which led to multiple runs.
"We did really good, we bounced back, the energy was much higher this game," Sixers second baseman, Kelden Hastings said.
"For us we just got to wear it and keep moving forward and keep trying to get better," Sixers manager, Ty Lain said.
Their next game is on Tuesday, June 23, against Scottsbluff. The game is at 6:30pm on Powers Field.
