Cheyenne Police address school shooting threat at South High

CHEYENNE, Wyo. (WyomingNewsNow) - UPDATE 11/6/19 1132 pm; The suspect has been identified and precautions are in place to ensure school can continue as normal.

Cheyenne Police say there are aware of a shooting threat at South High. According to the CPD Facebook page, the threat was made by social media, but officers are not yet aware of the identity of the person making the threat.

At last update, there is no word from LCSD 1 on the situation, and no word of canceling classes. The post from CPD is below:

ā€œCheyenne Police Department has been made aware of a school shooting threat at South High School through social media. School Resource Officers are taking extra precautions for the safety and peace of mind of our children and families.
If you have information pertaining to the identity of this subject making these threats please contact the police department, otherwise additional reports of this incident are unnecessary and only delay the investigation.ā€
