The Cheyenne Family YMCA will soon have some new STEAM learning activities.

It’s able to expand its STEAM, which stands for science, technology, engineering, arts and mathematics, programming through two grants it received from RBC Wealth Management and the Delta Kappa Gamma Upsilon Chapter. Cheyenne Family YMCA Learning Director Rhonda Quinn said the grants totaled about $3,250.

She said the YMCA used the money to buy STEM kits for its camps. It also used grant money on its arts and robotics programs.

“It’s amazing it allows us to provide better activities for the kids, things that are actual learning activities rather than just trying to keep them occupied for the day,” Quinn said.

The YMCA will use the STEM kits this summer and in future years.
