CHEYENNE, Wyo. (Wyoming News Now)- Both Cheyenne East and Central's football seasons has come to an end, as Sheridan and Thunder Basin will meet in the 4A football state championship.
No. 3 Central went on the road to face last season's 4A state runners-up in No. 2 Sheridan. The first half ended with the Broncs leading the Indians, 48-7. Sheridan was able to hold off against Central, winning with a final score of 62-35.
No. 1 Thunder Basin hosted No. 4 East. After losing to the Bolts in the regular season by a close score of 31-30, the T-Birds looked for redemption. It wasn't going to come easy as they were down, 27-6 at half. East had a late push, but went onto lose with a final score of 27-21. The T-Birds finished their season with a record of 7-4.
This is the first ever state championship appearance for Thunder Basin in the program's three years. As for Sheridan, this will be their fifth consecutive state championship appearance, winning three of the last four. The game will take place at War Memorial Stadium in Laramie on Saturday, November 16, at 4:00pm.
