Cheyenne Animal Shelter continues to open it's doors.

CHEYENNE, Wyo Cheyenne Animal Shelter will be limiting their foot traffic and suspending their volunteer activities until it is safe. However, they plan on keeping their doors open for the community.

The Animal Shelter's priority is keeping the animals, staff/volunteers and the community safe during this crisis.

Haylee Chenchar- Marketing Director for Cheyenne Animal Shelter stated that, "At this time, we are not planning to close. We are here to be a resource for people and pets in our community. If we close our doors, families and pets in need will have nowhere else to turn. We are ensuring that the Cheyenne Animal Shelter is as safe as possible for employees and our community through limiting exposure to the virus by temporarily postponing public events and services. We will keep everyone updated if there are any additional changes to our services and hours."

They will continue to operate however, they ask the public to take precautions with their animals. For example, keeping at least two weeks of food supply and medicine on hand.

The shelter is also limiting exposure to the virus by temporarily postponing public events and services. In addition, our staff is enhancing cleaning efforts and increasing disinfecting protocols so we can keep staff healthy to care for the animals and stop the spread of the virus.
