Central Indians football head coach leads his team to the semifinals his second year with the program
The Central Indians will be taking on the Sheridan Broncs in the semifinals. Central made it back to the semifinals for the first time since 2009. Head Coach, Mike Apodaca led the team this far in his second season with the program. "its a great milestone for the program it hadn't happened in a while its odd,I graduated from this high school a long time ago and that was kinda the norm for us back then I guess maybe coming in that was my expectation" said Coach Apodaca. Central played Sheridan earlier this season and fell 28-14. "that game that we lost to them earlier in the year we made a lot of mistakes and I think going into our next game our goal is to minimize all of our mistakes and be as crisp as we can and just perform to the best of our abilities" said Junior Andrew Johnson.
Senior quarterback, Dawson Macleary says this game against Sheridan is going to be a big test for the team. "the thing that means the most to me if we can make it to that point for the program for this school it means so much to the culture that we have” said Dawson Macleary. Central has a record of 7-3 this season, the only games they lost was to Thunder Basin, Sheridan and East. "really it just shows how much we've grown from the beginning of the season to now and were still growing it just shows how much time and effort we've put in to the game" said Junior Carter Lobatos.
Central will travel to Sheridan Friday night and the game will start at 5pm.
