Casper Police arrest/charge man for abuse dating back 14 years
Raul Sanchez of Casper is under arrest and charged with seven counts of aggravated assault, two counts of strangulation of a household member and one count of domestic battery.
In a release sent to media outlets, the Casper Police Department Public Information Officer Rebekah Ladd the arrest comes after 21 days of “thorough and intense investigation.”
According to police, officers began investigating Sanchez on August 2nd and conducted multiple interviews with the victim and witnesses. Police say detectives were able to “substantiate numerous claims of abuse over a 14 year period.”
CPD’s Victime Services Unit is providing care and services to the victim.
“In horrible situations like this, we do everything we can to help the victim,” said Casper Police Detective Chase Nash. “We are doing everything within our power to serve, protect and care for this victim… even personally helping to get the victim’s vehicle back from the suspect so that the victim had reliable transportation. We are here for the long haul. Whatever they need.”
