City ordinance already requires pet owners to “scoop the poop” but not everyone does.

Some city parks and the Platte River Trails have free poop bags available. However, if there isn’t a bag available, people still need to clean the poop.

“Just because there is not a receptacle there does not mean that exempts you from having to make sure that you are picking up those deposits,” Casper Parks and Recreation Community Relations Coordinator Beth Andress said.

She said people can throw poop bags in the trash but asks them to double bag them when using a trash can at home.
