Casper antique show and sale Saturday and Sunday
The Casper Antique and Collectors Club is hosting a Vintage Antique and Collectible Show and Sale Saturday and Sunday at the Central Wyoming Fairgrounds.
Vendors brought in numerous antiques and other collectibles to sell to fellow collectors and others.
“They have everything from antique guns, glassware, tools, antique old ride-em cars kids used to have. We have an antique book dealer,” said Rick Betts, who chairs the show and sale.
Vendors take part in the fun too.
Ed Spears, 86, sells antique cameras, lights, guns and other collectibles. He said his favorite part of antiquing is the history behind the items, especially those common when he was in high school nearly 70 years ago.
“A lot of that stuff that was new then is now collectible this time. And it just gets pretty interesting in how we’ve advanced in technology and the history behind it,” Spears said.
He said his one of his favorite parts of selling antiques is teaching younger generations about older technology.
Betts said you never know what you might find at one of these shows.
“It’s just one of those odd things that you run across. Whether you knew you were looking for it or not, sometimes they just find you,” he said.
The show and sale lasts from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. each day. Admission costs $2.50 per adult. Kids under 12 are free if they’re with a paying adult.
