CASPER, Wyo. (RELEASE) - The Casper Police Department has arrested two individuals in relation to a stolen firearm on September 10th, 2019.

Josiah Bell, 21-year-old male, was arrested on one count of Felony Accessory After the Fact and one count of Possession of a Controlled Substance, Marijuana.
On September 8th, 2019 Casper Police Officer Tony Ho responded to a residence hall at Casper College for a citizen complaint. The complainant stated that an acquaintance, Josiah Bell, tried to sell him a firearm that Bell identified as stolen.
After denying to purchase the firearm, the complainant contacted Casper Police.
With this evidence and partnership from officials at Casper College, Casper Police were able to obtain a search warrant for the location in which the transaction was said to have occurred.
Upon execution of the search warrant, police located a firearm as well as multiple controlled substances.
Bell and Sunrhodes were taken into custody at the scene.
The seized firearm was stolen out of a vehicle parked in a residential driveway in Casper at the end of August. Through the detailed and diligent professional policing and detective work by the Casper Police Department, this stolen firearm was taken out of the hands of criminals.
“Thankfully, we will never know the types of crimes that could have been committed with this stolen firearm,” said Casper Police Detective Anthony Stedille. “Most auto burglary cases we deal with are crimes of opportunity. Do not leave your valuables and firearms unattended inside your vehicle and always lock your vehicle. Help us keep guns out of the hands of criminals.”
