“We are very excited to be here in Casper,” CUSA President Deborah Cannon said.
CUSA manages the property.
Cannon said the hotel has 198 rooms and 42,000 square feet of meeting space.
The hotel, then known as the Parkway Plaza, suddenly closed on Oct. 31, 2018. GreenLake Real Estate then bought the property at auction.
Prior to opening, hotel management spent about $3.7 million renovating the property.
Cannon said the renovation included the lobby, rooms, restaurant and saloon, lounge space, pool room and fitness center.
She said the property also has the largest meeting space in Central Wyoming.
Visit Casper CEO Brook Kaufman said Casper has had trouble pursuing large conventions since the Parkway Plaza closed.
“The addition of the Clarion coming back online or us really expands our opportunity to sell Casper as a destination,” she said.
Cannon said the Clarion Inn is already pursuing conventions.
In addition to the hotel reopening, Old Town, which includes Casper’s only mini-golf course, is also open for business. Old Town also has an arcade. Both arcade games and mini-golf are open to the general public.
