Casper City Council Members Want to Create a Storm-water Utility

CASPER, Wyo. (Wyoming News Now) They feel we need this to maintain and improve our system.

Their fear is that doing nothing could create an outdated system, which can't handle a possible massive storm.

Casper city council members want state lawmakers to pass legislation allowing them to create a stormwater utility.

"Much like our water utility or our wastewater utility where we all are assessed a small fee based on our use. And we use the stormwater system when water comes off our private land onto public land and has to be disposed of." Said Mayor Charlie Powell.

The initiative is part of a larger set of Wyoming association of municipalities goals council members approved at this week's work session.
