CHEYENNE, Wyo. (Wyoming News Now)- According to Wagon Doctors, the carriages are about 100-150 years old. There are roughly 180 wagons total, however, only about 80 of them are used in the parade. The ones used in the parade are in total worth approximately two million dollars. The wagon doctors worked year round, to have the wagons for the parade.
Carriages that will be in the parade are sitting at Frontier Park.
"Everything is in order, kind of like it was in Wyoming's real history," Head of Wagon Doctors, Tom Watson said.
The carriage coordinating committee, and the size of the carriage impacts the decision on which ones go out in the parade rotation, and which ones stay in the museum for display.
"It's really amazing because the thing is that real old time wagons and people will see them for the first time," Wagon Doctor, Ed Galavotti said.
The first parade is on Saturday, July 20 at 9:00am. The route will start in front of the newly renovated capitol building.
