CASPER, Wyo. (RELEASE) - The Casper Area Economic Development Alliance (CAEDA) is pleased to announce that it has retained Mr. Justin D. Farley to serve as its President and CEO. Mr. Farley is a serial entrepreneur, visionary, and mentor/coach to Wyoming startup companies in his current capacity at the Wyoming Small Business Development Center (SBDC). “We’re very excited Justin is willing to serve in this important role. Justin brings a balanced approach to economic development that will focus on growth and expansion of existing Casper businesses, recruitment of complementary companies, and startup of innovative high growth businesses. Justin is a proven leader and successful entrepreneur and possesses an undergraduate degree in business with an emphasis in financial management from the University of Montana,” says Kermit Wille, CAEDA’s Board Chairman and president of First Interstate Bank – Casper.
Justin moved to Casper 22 years ago to open the Papa Murphy’s franchise in Hilltop Shopping Center. He owned and operated Papa Murphy’s for 12 years. After he sold Papa Murphy’s, he and his family moved to his hometown of Pendleton, Oregon. While in Pendleton, he owned and operated a Quiznos franchise. Justin later sold Quiznos when he and his family returned to Casper. Both stores were top performers in their regions, which is attributed to Justin’s management style with an operation geared for success. In addition to franchises, he has experience as a financial advisor and licensed realtor with emphasis in commercial and investment property. “I look forward to having a positive impact on the community that has been so great to myself and my family,” says Justin. Justin and his wife, Emily, have two children, Katie and Jake, who attend school in Casper.
“CAEDA is really in an exciting position as it prioritizes business expansion of existing Wyoming companies, innovation, growth, and development of new Casper-based Wyoming companies, and lastly recruitment of complementary businesses,” says Wille. “Justin seems like the logical choice to succeed the hard charging outgoing CEO, Charles Walsh, whose leadership, private sector experience, and commitment to the betterment of Casper, was instrumental in shaping a new economic development vision, strategy and focus for the past 30 months”.
Charles Walsh shared, “It has been an incredible pleasure to serve the Casper Community for the past 30 months. Our small CAEDA operations team has done some heavy lifting, producing positive results across all our strategic goal sets. This has been made possible through the leadership of the CAEDA Board, our customer the Economic Development Joint Powers Board, the City of Casper staff and council, and the Natrona County Commissioners. I feel positive about our achievements, the alignment of the organization, the selection of Justin as my successor, and the memories created during my tenure. My wife, Merry Jane and I love Casper, and its people, and are looking forward to a bright future”, says Walsh.
Justin will start his role on at CAEDA on August 1, 2019. Charles has committed to fulfilling his current contract through October 31st to allow for an effective orientation and transition to his successor. “At the moment Justin informs me that he’s confident, I plan to exit”, says Walsh. Kermit added, “Charles originally agreed to accept the position on a limited time frame, which at the request of the current Board of Directors was extended an additional year. He has fully met the original and extended time period objectives, while exceeding all performance expectations. Charles expressed his desire to travel with his wife, Merry Jane, and pursue other professional and entrepreneurial endeavors. We wish him well!”
