CHEYENNE, Wyo. (Wyoming News Now) -- Blue Federal Credit Union held a groundbreaking celebration for its new headquarters, which will be located in Cheyenne.
The event offered a variety of different food options, drinks and live music. President and CEO for Blue, Stephanie Teubner, said, "It's Blue's authentic purpose to become a catalyst for positive change that will impact our members, our employees, and importantly the community that we serve. We're so excited about this opportunity." During the event, Blue shared a video reflecting on its history and also a video looking ahead to its new space.
Mayor Marian Orr wasn't able to attend, but shared remarks through a video that was shown. Cheyenne City Council President, Rocky Case, said, "This is a gigantic blight right here in the center of our city. And for you all to own it and take it on and say we're going to fix this and we're going to make a great thing happen, is phenomenal."
Frank Cole, whose family owned the Cole Shopping Center where Blue is building its new headquarters, was invited to get a little dirty during the groundbreaking. He joined Blue Federal Credit Union workers and shoveled some dirt for the groundbreaking event. The event even included fireworks.
