Wyoming Rib & Chop House of Cheyenne’s “Best in Class Teacher Award” was presented on Feb. 11 with a $1,000 check for classroom supplies and an ice cream party for the students. The winner of the online poll is Patrick Bannister, a 3rd grade teacher at Poder Academy. Bannister says seeing his students smile and the light that flickers in their eyes when they learn something new is priceless. Bannister’s students describe their teacher as funny, unselfish, kind, huggable, awesome, and sweethearted.

“They know everything about me and to hear those types of things, it’s incredibly special,” said Patrick Bannister. “To hear ‘sweethearted,’ that’s not a word that I’ve heard from a child before.”

The general manager of Wyoming Rib & House of Cheyenne says giving back to local educators is one of the greatest feelings.

“It’s tremendous,” said CJ Kopack, General Manager of Wyoming Rib & Chop House in Cheyenne. “This is exactly what we’re going for when we started this - giving back and picking the best teacher and getting to witness this and how they’re shaping and molding these kids and our future generations is amazing. There’s no words - it’s amazing.”
