Bar Nunn Fire Department hosts annual haunted house
Bar Nunn volunteer firefighters are used to serving their community. For the 10th consecutive Halloween, their services gets a little spooky.
The annual haunted house is a fundraiser, which pays for training and equipment.
“There’s creepy stuff. There’s going to be clowns. There’s going to be some special surprises,” Bar Nunn firefighter Jared Gray said. “It’s pretty creepy and it’s just a huge maze.”
Typically, firefighters are in the business of conquering fears, but for Halloween, it’s all about creating the fear.
“It feels better to kind of be with the community and be around them in more of a situation where they’re there to be scared. And it just flips everything over and we’re all laughing and having a good time,” Gray said.
He said it’s also nice to see community members when there’s no emergency.
“The public likes it and we get a lot out of it, not just as a fundraiser, but as a community and bringing the community around and making sure they know our faces,” Gray said.
The haunted house continues through Friday. It’s open from 7 p.m. to 11 p.m.
Admission costs $10 for adults and $5 for kids under 12.
